The following document is Exigo Loss Adjusters’ privacy policy which explains our legal obligations in relation to management of your personal information during and on completion of our engagement with clients.
Exigo adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988, its Privacy Principles, and any subsequent amendments. These principles are set out to govern the way in which personal information is collected, used, disclosed, stored, secured, and disposed of.
What is Personal Information?
Personal information is any information which can identify you as an individual eg. name, address, contact details and banking details. These details may be collected at various points throughout the working relationship and via various means including but not limited to email correspondence, telephone, website forms or from third parties such as insurance companies. We cannot guarantee the privacy policies of third parties.
Why do we collect this information?
Collecting your personal information is required for the provision of our services. We will only use or disclose your personal information in ways which would be reasonably expected for the successful provision of our services.

Sensitive Information
Sensitive Information is defined in the Privacy Act 1988. The nature of the claims work undertaken by Exigo does not generally require the collection of sensitive information. However, if the collection or use of your sensitive information is required outside of the primary provision of our services, we will request your consent or do so without consent only when required by law.
Third Parties
In the majority of cases your information will either be collected directly from you or through a relevant third party such as your insurance provider.
Disclosure of Personal Information
As with sensitive information any disclosure of your personal information outside of the expected course of provision of our services will only be done with your consent or where required by law.
Security of Personal Information
We endeavour to store your personal information in a manner to avoid any unauthorised access which could lead to unnecessary disclosure or misuse or loss
As required by Australian Law company records must be kept for a minimum of 7 years. Upon competition of the 7-year period we endeavour to take all reasonable steps to destroy your personal information safely/securely.
Access to your Personal Information
During our working relationship if you need to update your personal information, please contact us via phone or email. In order to release your personal information, we may require you to provide identification.
Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information
It is vital to the provision of our services that your personal information is kept up to date. If any of your personal information changes, or you notice that we have the wrong information on file, and you feel it will affect the completion of our provision of service please contact us as soon as possible.
Policy Updates
Our privacy policy is subject to change and will change in accordance with any updates to the Privacy Act 1988.
